How to decode the METAR report?? And procedure for circuit and landing pattern.

This is the basic left hand circuit pattern of any aircrafts when the aircraft attempt a go around. Every airport has it's own traffic pattern wheather it is controlled by the tower or any other. To avoide runway occupancy and collisions.

Traffic pattern for all airport is same. It generally consists of 5 parts as in below diagram.
It consists of departure, crosswinds, downwind, base leg, and finals.

1. departure- as the aircraft taken off.
2.crosswinds- climbing and turning left of the runway as we get enough altitude.

3. downwind- after crosswinds we turn to the left to join downwind in that we are maintaining our heading and altitude or we can extend our downwind to avoide traffic.

Here is the diagram for the rectangular traffic pattern.

As the aircraft comes for a landing as it given by VOR to the runway.

* In all the airport traffic pattern should be above 1000ft whatever may be the elevation.

A pilot should be enter the runway pattern at 45 degrees like.

In the above diagram the aircraft join the downwind and by taking 290 degrees turn it should join the base leg and after a 1 miles of distance it join the finals.

There is another leg also called the upwind  if there is traffic on Runway or due strong

head wind pilot has to perform the go around procedure for that purpose there is upwind are used.
This are parallel to the runways like

In the above mentioned case there is another aircraft on landing so the second aircraft has to join the upwind.

Ok this is all about traffic pattern.

        **METAR  REPORT

but here is the question like how to decode the metar report ( wheather report)???? Most favorite quetions of interviews, so let's get started.

Here is one ex- of Delhi international airport wheather report.

VIDP 070200z 12003KT 2000 BR SKC 10/08 Q1013 NOSIG.

Decoding be like-

Delhi weather at 0200 on 07(date) surface wind 120 deg 03 kts visibility 2000 mts mist sky clear temp 10 deg Celsius few point 08 deg Celsius QNH 1013 trend no significant changes.

Second ex- Bangalore international airport wheather report.

VOBG 070030z 12003KT 4000 HZ BKN004 18/16 Q1014 TEMPO 3000

Decoding be like-

Bangalore wheather at 0300z on 07( date) surface wind 120 deg 03 kts visibility 4000mts in haze clouds 5-7 octa at 400 temp 18 deg Celsius few point 16 deg Celsius QNH 1014 trend vis expected to decreases by 3000mts.

In last we are left with different categories of ILS, so go through this falling image.

For cat-IIIC the aircraft land at any condition like bad wheather, or in case of very less visibility.

This actual image of ILS categories activated from ATC tower.
