Dear friends and followers welcome back to today's new blog in this we are going to discuss weight turbulence category of aircrafts.so let's get started.
Here is one ex-
ATC- Air India 576 heavy Mumbai twr winds 40knots 57 guesty from South runway 24L cleared for take off
Pilot- Cleared for take off Air India 576 heavy.
Why this pilot and ATC says heavy?? So here are some tips.
Well, turbulence is nothing but amount of disturbed air by any aircrafts.
If you seat in the airport or a you are a plane spotter you seen the difference like every aircraft come for a landing has some separation between them.
We are know that every plane generate the wing tip vortices or drag to avoide the turbulence every aircraft has to keep separation between them.otherwise the aircraft get stalled because of this turbulence.
Here is the weight turbulence category as per ICAO-
1.Light aircrafts- upto 7000kg.
eg. Cessana-152, Cessna- 172, Icelnder,
Nomad, pipper Navajo, beechcraft etc.
2.Medium aircrafts weight category- more than 7000 kg and less than 136 tonnes
Aircrafts included- b727,b737,b757,a320,a319,a321, bombardier jets, embrear jets, ATR-72 etc.
a3.Heavyircrafts weight category- more than 136 tonnes but less than 560 tonnes.
Aircrafts included-
b747, b767, b777, b787, A330, A340, A350,
McDonnell dauglas-10, MD-11 etc.
4. Super heavy aircrafts weight category- above 560 tonnes.
Aircrafts included- A380( massive giant).
As per ICAO the smaller commercial jet is A320 always should be taken off first to avoide the turbulence and at last the b747 and A380.
The minimum separation between aircrafts always be 5 nm or in case of heavy and super heavy aircrafts it goes upto 8 nm.
Why the airplanes fly at higher altitude?????🤔
Can you guys having this question on your mind. So here is the briefing for that.
1.as the aircraft fly at higher altitude the air gets thinner as the altitude increases so the drag produced by the aircraft is negligible comparison to the lower altitude.
2. At higher altitude there is no chances of birds strikes.
3. As the air gets thinner at higher altitude the wear and tear of engines are also reduces due to low resistance of the air and it directly reduces the maintenance costs of the airlines.
4. because of lower resistance of the air efficiency and speed of the aircraft increases.
5.at higher altitude there is no chances of severe turbulence ( enimies of aircrafts) and thunderstorm activities and bad wheather.
but at higher altitude there are chances of sudden decompression. Then after that ICAO says that every aircrafts engaged in commercial operation do not cross the altitude of 46000 ft.
Remember that commercial aircrafts can't fly altitude above 46000ft.
Ok guys in tommorows blog we are going to discuss instrument approach chart.how pilot lands the aircraft by seeing this chart.
So stay tuned for more.
