Spice jet Completed 10,000 Cargo flights.


 



Budget carrier spice jet has handled around 10,000 cargo flights since lockdown in March, besides becoming a top cargo handler in India on October from countries busiest  Indira Gandhi International airport, Delhi. 


Challenges of Covid-19 pandemic-

During the Corona virus induced lockdown that was imposed on 25th March, the government permitted operations of only Cargo and special flights while suspending all scheduled domestic and International flights. 

Beside, the government also allowed airlines to carry cargo  within passenger seats and cabin, Apart from the aircraft belly.

Though scheduled domestic operations resumed from 25th may, the regular international flights remains suspended. 


Spice jet operations-

Spice jet has operated 9,950 flights ( Till Nov12),  since the lockdown begans at the March 25th. 

Carrying 77,000 tonnes of cargo in this period.


The airline has also emerged as a top International cargo operater from India's busiest airport. 

During the previous month spice jet, handled a total of 3,850 tonnes of cargo, including 1,751 of exported cargo.


As per chairman of spice jet Ajay singh- 

" I am proud of stellar performance of our cargo operations that has seen us as the largest International cargo operator, Among both Indian and foreign Carrier out of the Delhi International airport.

The airline is hopefully of maintaining  this momentum and strong performance going forward. 

        

Spice jet operational Freighters-

Spice jet has dedicated fleet of nine freighter Aircrafts consisting of 5 b737s, there bombardier q-400s, and one A340. 




Spice jet opted to lease an A340, from Portuguese wet lease operator Hifly. The aircraft has allowed spice jet to enter in new long haul market. It should be noted that the plane is a passenger Aircraft and which has temporarily converted for freight operations by removing seats.

In late August, it operated it's maiden long haul cargo flight with an A340 freighter Aircraft to the

 New Delhi from the Amsterdam, making it the first Indian carrier to operate non-stop cargo services from Europe.


Spice jet Enhancing operations-

Cargo isn't the only option for long term growth. Spice jet The low cost carrier are also enhancing it's first long haul route to London next month using a wet leased A330neo. Spice jet planning to capitalize the thier market in the current pandemic, with new long haul routes are also added to the airlines operations.

Overview-
Performs scheduled and unscheduled Aircraft electrical maintenance. Carrie's out directives from the supervisor in support of the maintenance team and unit operations.


Responsibility-

1. Assist the maintenance supervisor to accomplish company missions.

2. Performs inspection, servicing and repair of Aircrafts and equipments IAW applicable technical publications and local policies and procedures. 

3. Impart the knowledge of duties and responsibilities In such a manner ( advise support and OJT training) to permit assimilation of the customers trainee.

4. Complete all forms, records and documents recording Aircraft maintenance activities IAW DA PAM 738-751, applicable technical publications and local policies and procedures.


No restrictions for Nationality.

Location- Abu-dhabi ( UAE).

Eligibility criteria-

1. Qualification-

FAA airframe and powerplant certificate or industry equivalent.

I).High school diploma.

II). Graduation from military or commercial Aircrafts maintenance school or course required.

Experience required-

I). Minimum of 5 years Aviation maintenance.

II). Minimum of 3 years mechanics on Aircraft.

III). Must have thorough knowledge in the use of common tools, special equipments/ tools, test equipment and Aviation ground support equipment used in performing maintenance on the relevant Aircraft types.
