Boeing b737 max ungrounded in the USA.

The Federal Aviation Administration has recertified the b737 max which are grounded for 1year and 8 months and rescinded on March 13th 2029. The approval gives the airlines green signal to prepare return  the type to service.

To say that the grounding of b737 max has gone longer than it was expected would be an understatement. Indeed, the aircraft was first grounded, nobody expected that it would take so long time to return to the skies.

However, after series of test flights in the late summer, significant progress had been made for last past months.

Recertification details-

As of today, Federal Aviation administration has rescinded it's grounding order of the b737. This means airlines will return the aircraft to the service once they have actioned work specified in the relevant Airworthiness directives and completed crew training.

South West airlines recently said that it would train every single pilot on the b737 max before it returns to the service. Other airlines also need to undertake pilot training and software updates before returning the kind to use.

David Calhoun commented( CEO of Boeing) on grounding of b737 max.

" Will never forget the lives lost in the two trajic accidents that led to decision to suspend operations. These events and the lessons we have learned as a result have reshaped our company and further focused our attention on our core values of safety, quality and integrity".

Meanwhile, FAA adminstrative told that it's impossible for the same conditions to happen in the future.

Regarding Boeing undelivered Aircrafts, FAA will perform individual reviews of each b737 max before delivery to the customers.

They will grant the Airworthiness certificates and export certificates for each Aircraft.

Countries likely to unground b737 max Aircrafts-

Today's news from the FAA is only applicable for the United STATES AIRLINES. FAA recognizes that other civil Aviation authorities may follow it's lead to unground b737 max. However, they are not obliged to do so. It is up to each country to unground the aircraft itself.

One would except that Canada may be one of The next countries to unground the aircraft. As it was one of the countries to test fly the aircraft even before FAA re-certification, along side of the Europe EASA. Brazil was also included in the joint open evaluation board that met the review the results of test flights.

When will India ( DGCA) recertify The b737 max?

DGCA has said that it will take sometime before the Max return to the skies in India.

DGCA previously said that it will conduct it's own review of the plane before returning to service.

India isn't providing timeline how long it's assessment of the max will take and when the aircraft could return to the skies. The process could take anywhere from a few weeks to the early few months of 2021. For now, spice jet b737 max are going to be parked on the ground for at least while longer.

B737 max operators in India-

Boeing had two customers in India for b737 max at the time of it's grounding, spice jet and jet airways( jet airways Aircrafts are possessed by lessors). Spice jet is the only carrier flying max in the India, with a fleet of 13 Aircrafts.
